Romans 3: 23 - 24
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Why is Salvation Necessary?
The short answer is this: sin separates us from God. To bridge this Gap, we all need a Savior. Jesus died on the cross to bear the penalty for our sins (past, present and future). What follows is some Scriptures for you to contemplate.
We often fall victim to the misconceived notion we have to be better than the rest to be used by God. However, every person God chooses to accomplish big things, through both the Old and the New testaments of Scripture and beyond, were and are imperfect and flawed human beings, like us. Saved by grace means Grace is free. No one is required to work to earn it or retain it. It is an all-inclusive, no-strings-attached, free gift from God.
That being said, the Apostle Paul is saying that once we recognize and receive by faith the truth that has been revealed in Jesus (Ephesians 2:8-9), we can then (by receiving the indwelling Spirit of God) start to think and live in the way God really wanted us to live, but were never by ourselves alone, able to do in our imperfect human nature. Having peace with God we begin to experience a more balanced, happy and productive life.
And personally, the day I received Christ Jesus as my Saviour and Lord, on March 14th,1982, that is when my life began to have real meaning and purpose.
I was lost and confused about so many things but then I found out that the Word of God (the Bible) had all the answers to all my problems, and more. His Word became the perfect guide for my life decisions, whether for family or friends, relationships or work and leisure, and so much more.
I now have "God's Guide-Book" in my hands and am gradually learning to read the "Divine Road Map" which gives me, by His indwelling Holy Spirit, the ability to make informed choices which lead to a more productive and joyful, balanced and happy life.
That decision I made over 41 years ago (on March 14th,1982) to receive Jesus as the Lord of my life was the best decision I ever made in my entire life.
John 1:12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name (Jesus), He (God the Father) gave us the right to become children of God —
I now know the peace of God that surpasses all human intellect or understanding and have God's assurance that His Word (the Bible) will provide all the wisdom I need to please God and have life more abundantly here on earth, and eternal life in harmony with God's perfect original design in the world to come.
John 5:13-14 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved." Acts 16:31
(Testimonial by Peter Brenner Oct.20th, 2023)
Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
Psalm 34:18
The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saves such as be of a contrite spirit.
