All people need a time in their lives when they accept Jesus' work on the cross for themselves putting their faith in his finished work there.
He died paying for all sins and only He can offer us forgiveness.
The Bible shows a different way to live. Romans 3:23 says we all deserve death, but God instead gives us life. Forgiveness in the Bible isn’t about people getting what they deserve, it’s about people getting what they truly need, and on their own cannot accomplish.
By definition forgiveness isn’t fair. It’s letting go of, and completely releasing the guilty, of the debt he has racked up. They deserve to pay, they deserve punishment. Karma says they should pay. The Bible says God can forgive.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3;16
Christ’s Sacrifice for the Ungodly
(John 3:1–21)
Romans 5:6 For at just the right time, while we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly even dare to die. 8 But God proves His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Therefore, since we have now been justified by His blood, how much more shall we be saved from wrath through Him! 10 For if, when we were enemies of God, we were reconciled to Him (God the Father) through the death of His Son (Jesus Christ), how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life! 11 Not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation (reconnected to our God and Heavenly Father).
Yes, according to the Bible, Christ died for us while we were still sinners. Romans 5:8 states that “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us”
This verse clearly demonstrates God’s kindness, love and grace, as it definitely shows that Christ’s death was an act of love and mercy towards humanity, despite our sinful and rebellious nature.
God has shown us underserved kindness and favour, in sacrificing His sinless, perfect Son on the cross, in order that we could be forgiven of all our sins and be given the gift of the 'new birth' - Eternal Life in Christ Jesus the Lord.
The Lord Jesus said, “‘I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.’ John 3:3
Jesus explains that a person cannot be redeemed unless they are "born again."
The Greek phrase can also mean "born from above."
We all have a real need. We need a change of heart—a spiritual transformation that can only come from above. New birth, being born again, is an act of God whereby eternal life is imparted to the person who believes
(2 Corinthians 5:17; Titus 3:5; 1 Peter 1:3; 1 John 2:29; 3:9; 4:7; 5:1–4, 18).
John 1:12–13 indicates that being “born again” also carries the idea of becoming “children of God” through trust in the name of Jesus Christ, alone.
You and I can be made right with God only in believing God at His word.
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on them. John 3:36
“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, ..." Acts 16:31 ESV
Being saved is not something we accomplish through our good deeds, but through the mercy of God alone.
Salvation comes only from God, and only through God's mercy. Eph 2:8
Salvation is based on what Christ alone has done for us and never on something we have done or could ever do. No action is good enough to provide or earn our own salvation. No good deeds can undo the sins we have committed.
Salvation is a gift. Further, it is a gift only God can provide.
